Abstract

This article will provide a better understanding of disciplinary acts creation experiences within professional circus training schools and challenges related. Based on the concept of experience and on the Theory of Activity, this qualitative interpretative research took place at the Centre national des arts du cirque (France) and the National Circus School (Canada). Thanks to the participation of 85 participants and a large data collect (85 interviews, 158 hours of observation, 12 focus groups), it aims to shed light on students’ voices and, in a complementary manner, those of teachers.
