Abstract

This research presents the main issues and salient elements of the “workshop” considered from the angle of its mode of emergence, its disciplinary singularities in arts and design as well as its interdisciplinary extension methods. The research angle is at the crossroads between research in design and that relating to its teaching and falls within the framework of the French case. We propose to observe its contours and define certain invariants of the activity, particularly as an episodic experience (Rogalski, 2011) then to question the possible issues of its use as a boundary object (Sanchez and Monod-Ansaldi, 2015) and as an object of debate (Sagot and Dupont, 2014a, 2014b, 2015).
